About
Giovanni Leonardo Bassan is an Italian artist from Marostica, Italy. His artistic training began at the Art School A. Martini Schio after which he graduated in Industrial Design at the Politecnico di Milano.
Consistently offering a valuable new artistic perspective, his approach to figurative painting is an innovative mélange of traditional drawing practices on non-traditional formats such as isothermal blankets and packaging materials. His aesthetic is innovative, sensible and abundant with emotions.
Glazed with thought provoking emotions, Bassan’s exhibits highlight internal battles and raw feelings closely linking them to their causes. Wars with more losers than winners, existing reflections that from the present come to us direct and impudent; with great strength and a touch of violence he poses questions on identity and human responsibility.
Being an avid traveller, he participates and volunteers in may international projects. The Mine Gallery is his mother gallery and some of his work has been been exhibited with The Mine Gallery in Paris, C’a’D’Oro in Venice, Selfridges in London, Somewhere Gallery in New York and Kunstafabrik in Berlin to name a few. He has also given performances at Art Basel, Miami. Bassan currently resides and works closely with his mentor Michele Lamy in Paris, France.
